May 13thCAC live TV programAs May 18th is the International Friendship Day, CAC sent out a live TV program from Handa International Association.
May 9thJapanese Teacher Training Course startedJapanese Teacher Training Course has started to support volunteers for culture diversity. Total 10 sessions are scheduled. Around 50 people joined.

April 4thGeneral Assembly of Handa international AssociationGeneral assembly of Handa International Association for Heisei 22 and a commemorative lecture were held. All proposed items were approved. Ms. カーンティ and Ms. Edina gave speeches titled as “My life in Japan”.
April 24thThe 1st board meetingThe 1st board meeting of Handa International Association in Heisei 22 was held. All proposed items including activity plan and budget plan were approved.
April 4thVolunteer meetingThe 1st volunteer meeting was held. 21 volunteers attended the meeting and discussed several issues including management of Japanese class.
April 1stJapanese class “Tsubasa” startedWeekday Japanese class “Tsubasa” which is sponsored by Handa city has newly started.

March 19thThe 5th operating meetingEach committee reported its activities and accounting result. They also reviewed the plan of activities and budget of Heisei 22.
March 15thIssue Bulletin No/ 34The bulletin is attached to City bulletin to distribute among citizens. It is also sent to the association members nd related organizations.
March 9thAttended Aichi Council meeting Attended Aichi Council meeting.
March 7thInternational Potluck PartyThe 7th International Potluck Party was held. Total 121 people from 11 countries participated.
February 6thJapanese class for foreign children beganJapanese class for the children of foreign residents began. The class is conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm on every Saturday.
Jan. 31st Volunteer meetingA Japanese class volunteer meeting was held. 26 people participated in the meeting and actively exchanged opinions.
Jan. 29th Wenxin meetingChinese residents talked various daily problems in the meeting.
Jan. 28th IT & Public Relations meetingThe committee members edit KonnichiWorld bulletin No. 34.
Jan. 27th Operation committeeEach committee reported its activity and accounting. The administration office reported the budget plan and the half year accounting result.
Jan. 10, 2010The event of the calligraphy for the New Year was heldThe event of the calligraphy for the New Year was held at the first Japanese class for 2010.
December 26thYear End Party of Handa International Association23 people gathered at the party and enjoyed in a casual atmosphere.
December 6th &13 & 20Training session for the volunteers who teach Japanese to foreign children.The training sessions were conducted jointly by the office of Learning Japanese Assistance Fund and Handa International Association. The sessions utilized Learning Japanese Assistance Fund. 32 volunteers participated.  
Dec. 1st KonnichiWorld bulletinBulletin No. 33 was issued.
Nov.15thThe 7th KonnichiWorld Festival was held.

The festival was held with Handa Industrial festival. and was crowded with many people.

There were 12 country booths of Indonesia, China, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, USA, Canada, Nepal, Turkey and Peru and other booths including Chita SGG club, JTB and Dow Chemical.

Nov. 2nd Operation committeeEach committee reported its activity and accounting.
October 21stWorld cooking class – Thai cooking class was held.We held a Thai cooking class. The instructor of the class was Ms. タンマ・オイ who came from Thailand. 27 people joined the class.
October 10th 11th 12th.A Bhutan booth was set up in Aichi world friendship festivalHanda International Association and Handa-Bhutan Youth Friendship Association jointly set up a Bhutan booth in Aichi world friendship festival sponsored by Aichi prefecture to introduce Bhutan and the culture exchange activities between Handa and Bhutan.
September 27thJapanese class students took a one-day bus trip to Kyoto to enjoy a Japanese culture. 46 foreign students including Brazil, Peru, China, Korea, Venom, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, and Turkey went to Kyoto with 10 Japanese volunteers and staff to enjoy a traditional Japanese culture.
September 17thThe people of Sports department of Xuzhou came to Handa and made a courtesy visit to Handa International Association.They are Mr. Nan Jianping, Director of Sports department, Mr. Miao Lin, Mr. Yang Youjun and Ms. Song Lili. They made a coutesy visit to the mayor of Handa and met with the people of Handa Sports Association. They came to Handa international Association and met several people including the chairman and the director of the association.
September 14thThe 3rd world cooking class - Sri Lanka cooking - part IISri Lanka cooking part-II class was held, as many people wanted Sri Lanka cooking class one more time.
Sep. 9th Operation committeeEach committee reported its activity and accounting. The committee reviewed the details of KonnichiWorld festival plan.
August 31stThe chairman of Handa International Association went to the party. The prime minister of Bhutan came to Japan. Japan-Bhutan Friendship Association hosted the welcome party at International Culture Building in Tokyo. The chairman of Handa International Association went to the party.
August 29thThe meeting with Chita Peninsula SGGThe meeting was held with SGG club which actively provides an interpretation service. Many valuable opinions were presented. Those opinions are a good reference for our future activity.
August 21st The 1st event committeeThe committee reviewed the detail plan of KonnichiWorld festival which is scheduled on November 15.
August 13thMidland exchange students went homeAfter 2 week stay in Japan, they safely returned to Midland.
August 3rdWeekday Japanese class (Tsubasa)Weekday Japanese class (Tsubasa) began.

The 1st class welcomed nearly 30 students. They studied very hard.

August 2ndTanabata festivalTanabata festival was held to introduce Japanese cultures to foreigners. Many foreigners including Japanese class students enjoyed Japanese cultures.
July 31stJapanese class sponsored by JICA ended.The special Japanese class was ended. The class taught Japanese to foreigners to assist their job hunting.

Midland exchange students made a courtesy visit to Handa international Association

Three Midland exchange students came to Handa international Association for a courtesy visit. They met volunteers and the association members.

July 25thWelcome party for Midland exchange studentsHanda city held a welcome party for Midland exchange students. The host families were also invited. They enjoyed the party.
July 24th 

Midland exchange students arrived in Handa

Three Midland exchange students arrived in Handa. Midland has a sister city relationship with Handa. They meet citizens and experience Japanese cultures and traditions while they are in Handa.
 

July 14th

 

Bhutanese students safely returned.

They stayed in Handa for 11 days. During that time, they experienced and observed many things. We are sure they brought back many nice memories.
 

July 3rd

 

Bhutanese students arrived in Handa

Handa International Association assists Handa-Bhutan Youth Friendship Association on the student exchange program. Three students and a teacher stay in Handa from July 3rd to July 14th.
 

June 28th

 

Volunteers' meeting

The 2nd volunteers' meeting was held. 29 Japanese class volunteers joined the meeting and exchanged their opinions actively.
 

June 21st

 

Went to a planetarium

Japanese class students went to Handa Sky Museum and watched a planetarium. Total 79 people participated.

IT & Public Relation committee

The committee edited No. 32 bulletin which will be published on July 15th.

Operation committee

The 1st operation committee was held for the year of Heisei 21. The committee reviewed the activity plan of each committee for this year..

Attended the conference sponsored by Aichi prefectureThe association staff attended the 1st conference sponsored by Aichi prefecture for Heisei 21.

Attended the communication meeting for international associations in Aichi prefectureThis is the communication meeting for city/town/village level international associations in Aichi prefecture. It was held at JICA Chubu Center.

The annual general assembly was held

The annual general assembly of Handa International Association was held for Heisei 21. All proposed agenda were approved without any change.
 

April 30th

 

The board meeting was held

The board meeting reviewed the result of activities and the settlement of the accounting for Heisei 20. The board meeting also discussed the plan for activities and the budget for Heisei 21.
 

April 26th

 

Volunteers' meetingJapanese class volunteers held a volunteers' meeting after a Japanese class. The attendants discussed a future volunteer activity.
 

April 23rd

A farewell partyA farewell party was held in the last evening. The people promised to see each other again. It was an enjoyable evening.
 

April 18th

A welcome party for Hastings Koalas OrchestraThe party invited 52 members of Hastings Koalas Orchestra from Australia, host families, JRBB members and citizens.

The friendship concertHastings Koalas Orchestra performed the friendship concert with JRBB at Kariyado Hall.

Hastings Koalas Orchestra arrived in Handa

52 members of Hastings Koalas Orchestra came to Handa from Australia. They stay at host families houses while they are in Handa..

More than 100 people of Japanese class students and volunteers went to Kariyado Park to see the cherry blossoms.
